Our classic blend of the famous smoked black tea from China. The plucked leaves are dried over pine fires producing the characteristic and slightly spicy aroma and taste.

"Souchong" refers to the fourth and fifth leaves of the tea plant.

It is claimed by some that Lapsang Souchong was the first black tea produced in China. According to legend it came about during the Qing era when passing armies delayed the annual drying of the tea leaves and to be able to supply to need the producers had to dry the leaves over pinewood fires.

Lapsang Souchong was said to be Winston Churchill's favourite brew!
